I dyed my hair magenta this past year so my hair of course had to be bleached. Naturally my hair is very dark so the bleaching process can be very damaging to your hair. Even with using other products to keep my hair healthy, there are still times when my hair just didn’t feel as soft and lustrous as it did before dyeing it. So first thing I went in for was this hair masque.
It was also the first thing I decided to use because quite frankly, I hate the smell that this whole collection has (very strong) and the masque seemed to be the least potent with the added fragrance. It smells like cheap old lady perfume in my opinion, but again not as potent in this particular product. As a licensed aesthetician, I know that scent is a very important aspect in the creation of a product, it may not have an benefit to your skin or hair, but it stimulates the senses and clients like to feel pampered. I read some of the other reviews and others seemed to enjoy that aspect, much to my amazement. To be fair I have a nose like a blood hound, so I’m very sensitive to fragrances and prefer something on the lighter side.
Scent aside, I will say that the masque was super hydrating, my hair really needed this! It just felt soft and smooth after, non frizzy, and so shiny! My hair had this bounce to it that it been lacking since I bleached it. I definitely recommend!**This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**
The Agadir moisture mask is really thick and luxurious and the results last a really long time . So when I tried this product I thought it was really refreshing because actually the argon oil does really go into the cuticle of the hair and smooth it. It’s nice to have a moisture mask that actually does what it say it’s going to do because a lot of them don’t last very long and I noticed that my hair was super shiny and it felt really moisturize and hydrated for quite a few days after I used it. I don’t wash my hair every day so I could feel the results for a few days which is really nice because it says what it does . It locks in the moisture , hydrates and reduces the frizzies smoothes and adds strength. It also encourages new hair growth for thicker .fuller and healthier looking hair. I will say this moisture mask is a little bit heavy I have fine hair so it was a little bit heavy on my hair at first but I used less and you only use it on the midshaft down and you’ll notice some great results on the ends and it will help prevent split ends as well. If you’re looking for a nice moisture mask especially if you have thicker to coarser hair it’s really great and the price point you can’t beat!**This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**
I could not wait to get this on my hair! When I touched it the texture was soft and fluffy but rich at the same time. I used about a quarter size amount because my natural texture is very thick and curly. It instantly coated my strands with softness and shine. I decided to do a deep treatment with a cap, and I sat under the dryer for 15 minutes. The Agadir Moisture Masque went to work on my hair by sealing moisture into my hair strands. I rinsed my hair after letting it cool for another 5 minutes and it was so shiny and soft. The Masque made my hair easy to detangle. I was looking forward to the feel of Argon oil but it was a little more dry than I thought. My styling process was a two strand twist which came out soft and so touchable! I love how touchable my hair is and how my style isn’t weighed down by being over saturated with a heavy conditioning product. The Moisture Masque is good for most textured hair, but 4c hair may need a little more oil base in my opinion. **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**
Even though I’ve been a professional beauty writer for nearly 13 years, I’ve never considered my hair’s porosity level when writing about hair care products. Generally, I focus on my hair’s key traits: straight, fine, highlighted, and long. With all that in mind, I thought Agadir’s Moisture Masque would be a good fit for a twice weekly treatment. Here’s what I learned.
?Low Porosity Hair Is Tough to Penetrate – I’ve had a lot of success with hair masks in the past, but Agadir’s mask (as well as their sister line from Leaf Legacy) haven’t hydrated my hair as much as I would’ve hoped. Turns out, straight hair is often low porosity. In people-speak, that means the cuticle is more tightly closed, which makes it difficult to penetrate. In the case of this masque, the product sits on the surface instead of penetrating my hair fully. Bottom line: my hair won’t let the goodness in. Boo.
?How I Made The Masque More Effective – Raised on the old adage, “At first you don’t succeed, try, try again,” I refused to give up on this product. Since I had a similar result when using the Leaf Legacy Hemp & Avocado Masque, I turned to my tried-and-true shower cap approach. After washing and slightly towel-drying my hair, I applied the masque, a shower cap, and my hair wrap. After 20 minutes, I rinsed out the masque and found the slight heat and prolonged airless contact time improved my results.
?One Thing I Don’t Love – The only real criticism I have with it, again as with the Leaf Legacy line, is the scent. The hydrogenated castor oil figures prominently in the scent, and that’s disappointing. I love the scent of the companion shampoo, so if there’s a reformulation in the works, this would be my only suggestion for improvement.
Closing thoughts: If you have higher porosity hair, you’ll probably love this product as-is and won’t need to take extra steps to make it work. 3 stars for me because of the scent, the added steps I need to take, and the added wait time needed in order to see results.

When I first thing I noticed when I received the agadir products was how attractive the packaging is. I tried this hair masque after using the agadir shampoo. It's thick and creamy and it definitely moisturized and hydrated my hair and took away the frizziness which I was very pleased with. Mind you that I have fine curly hair and when I've used hair masques previously they had weighed my hair down and made it feel greasy but not this product. This hair masque made my hair look and feel much better than before after using just one time. I must say that unfortunately when I opened the product the aroma was very unpleasant which took me by surprise because all their other products smell amazing. It is for this reason I gave 4 stars. Everything else I really love about this product!**This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**
